2011 corsets wholesale Oscar Gown Critique Anne Hathaway's numerous gowns were mostly hits, but some more than others. I loved her Red Carpet dress, her black tuxedo costume, and her second red dress (which I saw only for a few seconds). The others were interesting and none were duds. I look forward to seeing much more of these gowns on the Fashion Police and all the news and fashion web-sites, over the next several days!wholesale halloween costumes Listening to (and watching) Giuliana and Kelly critique the dresses, as they appeared, they were generally trying to be diplomatic. Once, they caught themselves gushing about the elegant simplicity of a style and noted that they were not wearing simple styles. In fact, I'm waiting for feedback on their FASHION POLICE show – as to what they will say about their own dresses. I didn't like either dress – yuck! I wonder if Joan Rivers will say anything?I have been watching all of the Award Shows wholesale christmas costumes this season, but I haven't taken the time to take notes to prepare a critique blog…until now, with THE AWARDS SHOW – The OSCARS! Not only was there a 2-hour Red Carpet Show, but I also caught the PREVIEW to the preview red carpet show. Some overall comments:There were lots of bright red dresses, and a few other bright colors, along with many white, gold, silver and blush colors. There weren't as many one-shouldered dresses as in past red carpets and many simple strapless looks with some off-the-shoulder looks that haven't been seen for a while. Those dresses with sleeves had ‘shoulder' interest. Fabrics: metallic, lace, lots of chiffon and tulle, plus the more structured taffeta and satin. What were the best gowns, in my opinion?:Jennifer Lawrence in her simple-elegant red gown-stunning, Jennifer Hudson in her tangerine Versace-also stunning. Amy Adams in her navy sequined cap-sleeved dress, Halle Berry in her silver beaded and ripped-tulle embellished gown. Gwyneth Paltrow in her white/silver sleek column gown, and Natalie Portman in her beautiful purple chiffon ‘maternity' dress. Helen Mirren had a stunning ruched gunmetal silk gown, which showed off her décolletage and covered her upper arms. What styles did I hate? I hated Nicole Kidman's ugly white peau de soie and rhinestoned sculptured dress – it was unattractive and made her look frumpy and almost chubby. Ugh! Scarlett Johansson's unembellished lace cranberry dress was an unattractive collaboration of 2 different lace colors, and then with the sheer upper bodice that added another color tone-which made it look very weird. Another lace dress that didn't work, was Melissa Leo's white lace over mirror-shiny silver (or was it gold?) The silhouette was fine, but the fabric combination was as repulsive as her non-G-rated acceptance speech! Oh, and Cate Blanchett-what were you thinking? Her dress was ‘interesting' but too much of a costume or sculpture! A round visual to frame her front-too weird! Nice colors and fabrics, but together, it just wasn't right. Some dresses with ‘issues' for me: Hilary Swank's feathered gown – I loved the overall look, but the shots from the waist up were just too plain. She needed some decoration to offset the beautiful bottom of her gown. Marisa Tomei's vintage Charles James gown was just too boring-especially from the waist up. Michelle Williams's white dress looked sort of like a chenille bedspread from a distance-too boring for me. Mila Kunis' pretty lavender lace and chiffon gown looked great up close, but from a distance, the lace on her bosoms looked like exposed tattoos – not a pretty visual, which makes a case for how different a gown or costume can look ‘from performance distance' vs. up-close, something ALL performers need to be aware of.Many critiques gave high marks for Hailee Steinfeld‘s light pink tea-length dress. I didn't like it. Why not? The blush color just washed her out. And I felt the styling was too old for her.So many stunning gowns, many not-too bad gowns, and of course, some very sad and ugly dresses! What a feast for the eyes!
